This time the Redskins were looking for a little more than just retribution.{VIDEO_e5b47669-e712-4526-a4c6-1ca19395f297,floatRightWithBar}
On a beautiful Thursday night at Delmar Stadium, both teams came in undefeated in their respective records, displaying discipline on both sides of the ball. Both squads are ample favorites in their respective divisions to go several rounds into the playoff’s, and could square off once again after the regular season. The game painted to be fairly even for both sides, and could very well go both ways. This was not the case, as the Katy Taylor squad was outmatched on both defense, and offense. The score was opened by the Redskins in the 1st quarter with a 3 yard run by #40 Patrick Andrews. One possession later, the Redskins scored once again with a 20 yard pass from Bram Kohlhausen to Markell Templeton. After this, the Mustang’s looked as if they had contained the Lamar offense. But miscues in the offense, and costly mistakes did not allow Katy Taylor to get on the board. Both teams went into the half with a score of 14-0 in favor of Lamar.
The second half would prove to be a difficult start for the Mustang’s, as they looked to get on the board, but once again the offense would doom the Mustang’s on this night. The Redskins rallied in the 3rd quarter for another touchdown after a spectacular 26 yard catch and run pass from Bram Kohlhausen to Orlando Crawford. After this score, the Redskins dominated the game, and the line of scrimmage as this would prove to be the case in the 4th quarter. Once again Orlando Crawford danced his way untouched into the end zone with a twenty yard run that would seal the game for the Redskins, ending Katy Taylor’s undefeated season so far. Both teams still have adjustments to make during the course of the season, and will look to make a solid presence in the playoff’s.
The Mustang’s next game will be their final pre-season game against Baytown Lee. Meanwhile the Skins will start their divisional play against Chavez at Barnett Stadium.
