Softball Game Preview: Central Red Devils vs. Orono Riots

The Central Red Devils will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Orono Riots at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Orono took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Central, who comes in off a win.

Central will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Penquis Valley on Wednesday. The Red Devils were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Patriots. The victory continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Orono came up short against Foxcroft Academy on Wednesday and fell 7-2. The Riots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Central's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Orono, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.

Central might still be hurting after the 12-6 loss they got from Orono in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
