Baseball Recap: Atchison Wins Going Away Against Washington

Atchison can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Washington Wildcats with a sharp 15-4 win. The Phoenix might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Yogi Purdy was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brody Barnes, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Atchison kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washington only managed three hits.

Atchison's victory bumped their record up to 18-4-2. As for Washington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-14.
