Softball Recap: Chavez Wins Going Away Against Downey

On Tuesday, everything went the Chavez Titans's way against the Downey Knights as the Chavez Titans made off with a 15-5 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Titans.

Chavez let Natalia Dias and Mariah Fuentes loose on the outfield. Dias went 4-for-5 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs, while Fuentes scored five runs and stole four bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Dias a new career-high in hits (four). Nicole Sanchez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

Chavez's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Chavez will square off against Grant at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Downey, they will be playing at home against Hilmar at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Downey has now lost 11 straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 28.
