Basketball Recap: Larkin Comes Up Short

Larkin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the Geneva Vikings and fell 69-27. While losing is never fun, the Royals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 564th, while the Vikings are ranked 23rd).

Larkin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Geneva, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Larkin will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Streamwood at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. After both having extra time off, Geneva and Hampshire will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 3:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
