The Grand Island Islanders will take on the Lexington Minutemen in a tournament on Friday. Grand Island is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.4 goals per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Grand Island didn't have quite enough to beat Norfolk and fell 2-1. The loss was Grand Island's first of the season.

Their goal came courtesy of Selvyn Loarca, who's now up to three this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lexington). They put the hurt on North Platte with a sharp 5-1 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for Lexington in their matchups with North Platte: they've now won seven in a row.

Lexington used a slightly different lineup for their bout with North Platte. Pedro Prado-Cruz played for 40 minutes having averaged 19.2 this season and Noe Perez-Cano got 50 vs. an average of 26.4. The pair took full advantage of the opportunity: J Danilo Gonzalez-Sanchdez scored three goals, while he put up one assist.

Having lost for the first time this season, Grand Island fell to 4-1. As for Lexington, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
