Recap: Vance County Vipers vs. Northwest Halifax Vikings
The Vance County Vipers can finally bid farewell to their 11-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 47-34 win over Northwest Halifax. Vance County's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Vance County was led to victory by Damion Jones and Tyshawn Alston. Jones scored 11 points along with four steals, while Alston scored 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. Taeshawn Alston was another key contributor, scoring two points along with six rebounds and five blocks.
Vance County's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-5. As for Northwest Halifax, their loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-8.
Vance County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Corinth Holders at 6:00 p.m. on December 28th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Corinth Holders is ranked 625th, while Vance County is ranked 634th).
