Baseball Recap: Delaware County Christian Takes a Loss

Delaware County Christian fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Dock Mennonite on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Pioneers by a score of 3-2. The Knights' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Delaware County Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Dixon, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Delaware County Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Dock Mennonite, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Delaware County Christian will face off against rival Valley Forge Military Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Dock Mennonite is set to square off against their familiar foe Faith Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pioneers 2.7, the Lions 1.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
