Baseball Game Preview: Union Mine Diamondbacks vs. Galt Warriors

The Union Mine Diamondbacks will challenge the Galt Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Union Mine will be strutting in after a win while Galt will be coming in after a defeat.

Union Mine's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Burbank by a score of 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Diamondbacks.

Will Baumunk was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Baumunk wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ian Enders, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Galt fell victim to El Dorado and their airtight pitching crew last Friday. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 10-0. The Warriors have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Galt's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Union Mine, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.

Union Mine skirted past Galt 5-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Do the Diamondbacks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
