Softball Recap: Cordova Has No Trouble Against Sulligent

Cordova made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Sulligent, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Cordova blew past Sulligent 8-1 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for Cordova, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Cordova let Ella Grace Madison and Shelby Black run wild. Madison scored two runs while going 2-for-2, while Black scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Cordova hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in nine consecutive matchups.

The win snapped Cordova's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-4 record. As for Sulligent, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Cordova will square off against Sipsey Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Cordova is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Sulligent, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Lynn at 4:30 p.m. Lynn's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Sulligent's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
