Basketball Recap: Kake Comes Up Short

After flying high against Yakutat on Tuesday, Kake came back down to earth. The Thunderbirds were just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 54-53 to the Angoon Eagles. The Thunderbirds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2025.

Kake now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Angoon, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Eagles beat Kake by a score of 45-44 on Friday.
