Red Oak came tearing into  Friday's  matchup with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with  a   3-1  victory over the Corsicana Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  3-0  back in September.
 Red Oak had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-17, 25-20,  25-11.
 Red Oak was led to victory by  Maleah Ellis and  Jaedyn Sheffield.  Ellis  had 14  digs and three  aces, while  Sheffield  had 13  digs and four  assists. That's the most  digs  Sheffield has posted since back in September.  Jillian Giddens was another key player,  getting eight  digs and two  aces.
Red Oak's win bumped their record up to 29-10. As for Corsicana, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-13 record  this season.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Red Oak will  take on  rival Midlothian  at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Corsicana is set to  face off against  their familiar foe Crandall  at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
