Soccer Game Preview: Huntley vs. Cary-Grove

The Huntley Red Raiders are taking a road trip to take on the Cary-Grove Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Cary-Grove will be up against a hot Huntley team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. The Red Raiders' defense stepped up to hand Crystal Lake South an 8-0 shutout on Thursday. Huntley's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last six games.

Their offense was hitting Crystal Lake South from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Maddie Cummings led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Cary-Grove made sure to put some goals up on the board against Hampshire on Thursday. They blew past the Whip-Purs 6-2. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 4-0.

Huntley's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-0-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 38 goals over those seven games. As for Cary-Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4-2 record this season.
