Basketball Recap: BASIS Flagstaff Skates Past Fredonia with Ease

BASIS Flagstaff entered their tilt with Fredonia on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Fredonia Lynx 76-28. Given the Yetis' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Lynx are ranked 247th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading BASIS Flagstaff to victory were Lincoln Bradford and Daniel Quiroz. Bradford went 11 for 16 on his way to 22 points in addition to six rebounds and six blocks, while Quiroz went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 18 points. The matchup was Bradford's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Qasim Malik, who posted 12 points.

BASIS Flagstaff smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive games.

BASIS Flagstaff's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.5 points per game. As for Fredonia, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

BASIS Flagstaff wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-44 win against El Capitan on the 14th. As for Fredonia, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Beaver Dam at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
