Claremore won the last time they faced Oologah and things went their way on Friday too. The Zebras claimed a resounding 46-6 win over the Mustangs. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-0.

Cecil Garrett went supernova, rushing for 201 yards and two scores on only 15 carries. Those 201 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Claremore's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Landon King, Jesse Beck, and Hayden Lee, who each picked up one sack apiece. Claremore received some extra help from Demetrius Cummings, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Claremore has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 26 points this season. As for Oologah, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Claremore will square off against Hilldale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. After each having a week off, Oologah and Miami will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. The contest will give the Mustangs their first taste of in-conference action this season.
