Softball Recap: Harding Skippers vs. Badger Braves
Harding extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 16 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-10 in the process. They came up short against the Badger Braves, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Braves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-3 two weeks ago.
As for Badger, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-5. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.
For Badger's part, Samantha Bradbury was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Bradbury was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with four runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Reghan Broadwater was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That double was her first of the season. Sarah Miller was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Coming up, Harding will host Lordstown at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Skippers are facing the Red Devils at the right time seeing as the Red Devils are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Badger, they will face off against Grand Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine runs per game on average), something the Braves will no doubt try to take advantage of.
