Softball Game Preview: University Red Devils vs. Head-Royce Jayhawks

The University Red Devils will head out to take on the Head-Royce Jayhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. University will be strutting in after a victory while Head-Royce will be coming in after a defeat.

University headed into their last match having not scored more than two runs for three straight, but Lick-Wilmerding let them put that streak behind them. The Red Devils were the clear victors by a 21-2 margin over the Tigers on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Red Devils as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Head-Royce was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 11-1 to California School for the Deaf.

University's victory bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Head-Royce, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Everything went University's way against Head-Royce when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as University made off with a 9-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
