The Southern Fulton Indians will head out to take on the North Star Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southern Fulton will be strutting in after a win while North Star will be coming in after a loss.
Southern Fulton is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against North Hagerstown on Saturday as they made off with a 21-5 victory. With that win, the Indians brought their scoring average up to 7.1 runs per game.

Claire Harvey made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kamryn Pittman, who went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Smith, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Southern Fulton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .634. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times North Star and Meyersdale had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Cougars came up short against the Red Raiders on Thursday, falling 8-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Cougars were not able to get on the board.
Southern Fulton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for North Star, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Southern Fulton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like North Star struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Southern Fulton took their win against North Star in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
