Glenelg suffers third straight loss at home

Recap: Glenelg Gladiators vs. Long Reach Lightning

The Glenelg Gladiators's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 67-44 loss at the hands of Long Reach. The game was a close 30-27 at the break, but unfortunately for Glenelg it sure didn't stay that way.

It was another big night for Jayden Saunders, who scored 28 points along with seven rebounds and two steals for Long Reach. Saunders has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rj Barnes, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.

Glenelg's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Long Reach, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.

Glenelg will square off against Centennial at TBD on Wednesday. As for Long Reach, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mt. Hebron at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mt. Hebron will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 146th, while Long Reach is ranked 29th).
