Football Recap: Concord Takes a Loss

If Concord was riding high fresh off their 35-14 takedown of Berean Christian last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bears and the Northgate Broncos were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Bears suffered a 21-20 loss. The Bears have struggled against the Broncos recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Concord still got an impressive performance from Juan Gonzalez, who threw for 116 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 54 yards and one score.

Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere 3.3 yards per carry. The team can thank Aiden Cunningham for the heroic effort on defense: he. Concord didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.6.
