Basketball Recap: Evart Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Evart entered their tilt with Beal City on Wednesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top against the Beal City Aggies by a score of 60-49. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Aggies back in December of 2024, they had to take a 73-60 defeat.

Evart was led to victory by Noah Vanderlinde and Jett Reedy. Vanderlinde dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, while Reedy went 6 for 10 en route to 15 points. Vanderlinde has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Dryson Derscheid, who posted eight points.

Evart has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. As for Beal City, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4.

Evart and Beal City should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. Evart (ranked 103rd) will meet Lake City (ranked 411th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Evart is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.7 points per game this season. Similarly, Beal City will take on Northern Michigan Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday up 465 places (135 vs. 600).
