Softball Recap: Homer Comes Up Short

Homer made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Hanover-Horton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Trojans fell just short of the Comets by a score of 9-7 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Trojans have suffered since May 10, 2025.

Lani Miller made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklen Minix, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Homer now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Hanover-Horton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Coming up, Homer will face off against Napoleon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hanover-Horton, they will host Quincy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Comets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Orioles have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
