Basketball Recap: Okeene Takes a Loss

If Okeene was riding high fresh off their 62-28 takedown of Pioneer-Pleasant Vale back in December of 2024, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Okeene Whippets lost 71-47 to the Lomega Raiders on Tuesday. The Whippets haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Okeene's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Lomega, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Okeene will square off against Waynoka at 8:00 p.m. on January 14th. As for Lomega, they will challenge Coyle at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lomega is facing Coyle at the right time seeing as Coyle is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
