Basketball Recap: Killian Comes Up Short

The matchup between Killian and Varela on Tuesday hardly resembled the 52-7 effort from their previous meeting. The Killian Cougars lost 66-41 to the Varela Vipers. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vipers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2019.

Despite the loss, Killian still got an impressive performance from Derico Taylor, who posted 16 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. Taylor's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

This is the second loss in a row for Killian and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Varela, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.

Killian will head out to challenge Southwest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Varela, they will square off against Braddock at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
