Softball Preview: Lucas Cubs vs. Central Christian Comets        
        
		
            For the second straight game, Lucas will face off against Central Christian. The Cubs are taking a road trip to  take on the Comets  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Lucas is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3  runs per game  this season.
Lucas took a loss when they played away from home  on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Monday. They blew past Central Christian 16-7. The Cubs haven't had any issues with the Comets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive  win against them.
 Maddie Boyer was a  major factor no matter where she played. She  struck out seven batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   four  hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-4 with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI.

 In other batting news,  Destiny Foss was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with one  home run, three  runs,  and three  RBI. Those  three  RBI gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Charlize Stinehour, who  went 1-for-4 with two  stolen bases, one  triple,  and two  RBI.
 Lucas  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. They are  a perfect 3-0 when  they post 11 or more  hits.
 Lucas' record is now 4-7. As for Central Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
 Lucas' speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's   matchup. The Cubs have been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 4.7  stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Central Christian, though, as  they've been averaging  only 0.3  stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Lucas continue to outrun the ball?
