Basketball Recap: Flanagan/Woodland Comes Up Short

They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Tri-Point Chargers. That's two games in a row now that the Falcons have lost by exactly three points.

When it comes to explaining why Flanagan/Woodland lost, don't look at Ella Derossett. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine boards. Aubry Edens was another key player, putting up 15 points and six rebounds.

Flanagan/Woodland's record now sits at 7-15. As for Tri-Point, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Flanagan/Woodland won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Heyworth at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Flanagan/Woodland is facing Heyworth at the right time seeing as Heyworth is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Tri-Point, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge Clifton Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tri-Point will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
