Softball Recap: Riverside Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Riverside ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wayne County Wildcats 6-5. The victory was just business as usual for the Panthers, who after four games remain undefeated this season.

Lainie Holbert was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That RBI was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Lillian Wade, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Riverside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

Riverside's win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Coming up, Riverside will host Camden Central at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wayne County, they will head out to take on Hardin County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
