Recap: Ellis Railroaders vs. Sterling Black Bears
After a string of three wins, The Ellis Railroaders''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a serious blow against Sterling, falling 54-26. Ellis was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-6.
Despite the loss, Ellis still got an impressive performance from Logan Russell, who rushed for 167 yards while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 178 yards and three touchdowns. Russell hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Younger, who gained 56 total yards and two touchdowns.
Ellis now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Sterling, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3.
Ellis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sterling will square off against Conway Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Conway Springs is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
