Basketball Recap: Legacy School of Sport Sciences' Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Legacy School of Sport Sciences entered their matchup against Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Legacy School of Sport Sciences Titans took a 57-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy Cougars. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Titans came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Cougars are ranked 438th).

Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy was led to victory by Elijah Mendoza and Nicholas Richard. Mendoza almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds, while Richard went 6 of 14 on his way to 14 points and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Egland, who posted eight points.

Legacy School of Sport Sciences' loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-6. As for Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Legacy School of Sport Sciences won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Riverdale Baptist at 7:40 p.m. on Friday. As for Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Spring Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
