Basketball Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for Quinter

Quinter had won four straight home games and Kamry Getz did her part to make it five on Tuesday. The Quinter Bulldogs enjoyed a cozy 57-42 victory over the Wheatland-Grinnell Thunderhawks thanks to Getz, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Another player making a difference was Braelyn Blackwill, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. Blackwill is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Aliviah Ball and Brooklyn Thomas certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Ball dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards, while Thomas posted seven points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Wheatland-Grinnell is 10-1 when Ball posts eight or more boards, but 2-4 otherwise.

Quinter has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Wheatland-Grinnell, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-5.

Quinter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-26 win against Hill City on the 13th. As for Wheatland-Grinnell, they have also already played their next game, a 50-46 victory against Cheylin on the 14th.
