La Vega is 9-1 against Gatesville since December of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The La Vega Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gatesville Hornets at 8:00 p.m. La Vega will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

On Friday, La Vega didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Lorena, but they still walked away with a 50-45 win. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while the Leopards are ranked 500th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gatesville has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-47 heartbreaker at the hands of Connally.

La Vega pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.1 points per game. As for Gatesville, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-9.
