Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Monroe). They never let Pineville get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory on Wednesday. Give West Monroe's pitching crew some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

Drew Ferguson looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, West Monroe let Sheppard Brown and Gage Carr run wild. Brown scored a run while going 1-for-1, while Carr scored a run while going 2-for-3. Zac Folmar was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

West Monroe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in four consecutive games.

West Monroe pushed their record up to 14-5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Pineville, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-11.

West Monroe will have a chance to go back-to-back against Pineville: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
