Football Game Recap: Sanford vs. Del Norte

You can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Sanford's strategy against Del Norte on Friday. Sanford put a hurting on Del Norte to the tune of 58-8. Followers of Sanford probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected five blowout victories.

Sanford started the matchup off right with 44 first-half points. Del Norte countered with 8 points, leaving the score at 44-8 going into the half. The Sanford defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the matchup.

Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week Sanford take on Dove Creek at 6:00 PM. Sanford are catching Dove Creek at a good time: Dove Creek have scored fewer and fewer points over their past three games. As for Del Norte, they will face off against Sargent. Del Norte stagger into the game hobbled by four consecutive losses while Sargent skip in buoyed by four consecutive wins.
