Cumberland had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Cranston East Thunderbolts with a sharp 10-1 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Clippers have posted against the Thunderbolts since April 17, 2019.

The team relied heavily on Nathan Goodrich, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Another player making a difference was Aidan Ray, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Cumberland will square off against rival Portsmouth at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Cumberland's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. Meanwhile, Cranston East is set to face off against their familiar foe South Kingstown at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will also give Cranston East their first taste of in-conference action this season.
