Lodi Academy falls despite big games from Samuel Hernandez and Andrew Kanas

Recap: Lodi Academy Titans vs. Ben Holt College Prep Academy Bobcats

The Lodi Academy Titans struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Thursday (the Ben Holt College Prep Academy Bobcats were 33% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. Lodi Academy took a serious blow against Ben Holt College Prep Academy, falling 72-25. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lodi Academy in their matchups with Ben Holt College Prep Academy: they've now lost seven in a row.

Despite the loss, Lodi Academy had strong showings from Andrew Kanas, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and two blocks, and Samuel Hernandez, who scored eight points along with four steals. Kanas hasn't dropped below 11 rebounds for three straight games. Cole Berreth was another key contributor, scoring three points along with nine rebounds and two steals.

Tayden Collins was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds for Ben Holt College Prep Academy. Collins is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 17 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Asa Gonsalves, who scored nine points along with two steals.

Lodi Academy's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Ben Holt College Prep Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-6.

Lodi Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ben Holt College Prep Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Ripon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ben Holt College Prep Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 670th, while Ripon is ranked 321st).
