Basketball Game Preview: Nebraska Christian Eagles vs. Shelby-Rising City Huskies

The Nebraska Christian Eagles will square off against the Shelby-Rising City Huskies on Tuesday.

Shelby-Rising City is facing Nebraska Christian at the wrong time: Nebraska Christian suffered their first home loss of the season on Thursday and they're likely out for redemption. They took a 61-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Shelby-Rising City can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They managed a 37-33 victory over Hampton.

Nebraska Christian better keep an eye on Taya Pinneo. She was instrumental in Shelby-Rising City's win, putting up 18 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Pinneo has scored at least a third of Shelby-Rising City's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleigh Ruth, who posted four points and six boards.

Shelby-Rising City was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Nebraska Christian's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-6. As for Shelby-Rising City, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12.

Nebraska Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Shelby-Rising City in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 52-40. Does Nebraska Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Shelby-Rising City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
