Basketball Recap: Stillwater Comes Up Short

Stillwater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 75-25 to the Bixby Spartans, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the Spartans are ranked 16th).

Stillwater's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Bixby, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stillwater will challenge Carl Albert at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carl Albert will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Stillwater surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bixby, they will face off against Ponca City at 6:30 p.m. on January 14th.
