Recap: Evart Wildcats vs. Pine River Area Bucks
The Evart Wildcats lost against the Pine River Area Bucks back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Evart took a 64-47 bruising from Pine River Area. While losing is never fun, Evart can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 491st, while Pine River Area is ranked 230th).
Pine River Area found their leader in underclassman Mason Gugle, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Marks, who scored 11 points along with six steals.
Evart's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Pine River Area, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
Evart will be playing in front of their home fans against McBain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pine River Area, they will head out on the road to face off against Manton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Manton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 193 points over their last three matches.
