Basketball Recap: Mcintosh's Run of Six Straight Victories Now Over

After flying high against Washington County last Saturday, McIntosh came back down to earth. The McIntosh Demons took a 70-52 bruising from the UMS-Wright Prep Bulldogs on Thursday. The Demons' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

McIntosh lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Chauncey Dixon, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 21 boards. Dixon is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Zoie Miller was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, McIntosh smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

McIntosh's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3. As for UMS-Wright Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

McIntosh wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 46-28 win against Spain Park on the 20th. As for UMS-Wright Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-62 loss against Geneva on the 20th.
