Basketball Recap: Northeast Skates Past Jehovah-Jireh with Ease

There's no place like home for Northeast, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past the Jehovah-Jireh Warriors 59-17 on Monday. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northeast to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyson Spears, who went 8 for 11 to rack up 16 points in addition to five boards and five steals. The dominant performance also gave Spears a new career-high in shooting accuracy (73%). Another player making a difference was Braylon Guerin, who posted eight points along with ten rebounds and four steals.

Northeast smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 16 consecutive contests.

The win got Northeast back to even at 13-13. As for Jehovah-Jireh, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-20.

Looking ahead, Northeast and Slaughter Community Charter will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. As for Jehovah-Jireh, they will face off against Doyle at 6:00 p.m. on February 18th.
