Shepard won the last time they faced Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South and things went their way on Thursday too. The Astros sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Meteors. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Astros have posted since March 29th.

Shepard had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-21, 25-17.

Oliver Bilik paced Shepard's offense, picking up 11 kills. Bilik got some help from Conor Harkala and his 27 assists. Finally, Connor Evans kept Shepard's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Shepard's win bumped their record up to 15-11. As for Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-12.

Shepard didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Downers Grove North on the 9th. Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South has also already played their next matchup (against Bremen), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
