Baseball Recap: Dock Mennonite Gets the Win

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Dock Mennonite and Plumstead Christian meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Pioneers walked away with a 6-1 victory over Plumstead Christian. For the Pioneers, this counts as revenge for the 9-5 win Plumstead Christian walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Riley Kling spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 13 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Kratz, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Brayden Kratz was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Ethan wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Dock Mennonite kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Plumstead Christian only managed six hits.

Dock Mennonite's record now sits at 4-1. As for Plumstead Christian, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Coming up, Dock Mennonite will square off against Springfield Township at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Plumstead Christian, they will head out to face off against The Christian Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
