Baseball Game Preview: Colleyville Heritage Panthers vs. Granbury Pirates

For the second straight game, Colleyville Heritage will face off against Granbury. The Panthers will face off against the Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Colleyville Heritage 3.6, Granbury 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Colleyville Heritage heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Thursday. They fell just short of Granbury by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered since February 29, 2024.

For Granbury's part, Levi Martinez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Martinez has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Martinez wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Blake Bramlett, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Brazos Cornelison also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Colleyville Heritage and nudges their season record down to 16-11-1. As for Granbury, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 17-8.
