Morrison had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Polo Marcos as they made off with a 21-6 victory. Considering the Mustangs have won six matchups by more than 11 runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Gage Wilson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched four innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Collin Renkes was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Morrison is 5-1 when Renkes posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brayden Rubright, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Morrison kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Morrison now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Polo, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.
