Volleyball Recap: Eau Claire North Takes a Loss

Eau Claire North suffered their biggest loss since October 10, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Hudson Raiders. The defeat continues a trend for the Huskies in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost seven in a row.

While Eau Claire North was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Hudson's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-14, 25-18.

Olivia Proffitt paced Eau Claire North's offense, picking up five kills. Proffitt got some help from Kendall Vance and her nine assists. Adelynn Shepler controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Hudson was led to victory by Kaitlyn Drost and Andie Burns. Drost had 13 digs, while Burns hit 75% for six kills and eight digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Burns a new career-high in assists (30).

Eau Claire North's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Hudson, their victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-3.

Looking ahead, Eau Claire North will be taking part in a tournament against Verona at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Hudson, they will be playing at home against St. Croix Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
