Baseball Game Preview: Hixson Wildcats vs. Signal Mountain Eagles

For the second straight game, Hixson will face off against Signal Mountain. Hixson is taking a road trip to face off against Signal Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Hixson's last matchup with Signal Mountain could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Monday. Hixson lost 20-7 to Signal Mountain. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

For Signal Mountain's part, they got a massive performance out of Brady Timblin, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That home run marked the first that Timblin launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Smiley, who scored two runs while getting on base in all six of his plate appearances.

Signal Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .395. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

Signal Mountain has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. Hixson's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
