            The Red Bluff Spartans will challenge the Hanford West Huskies at 1:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Red Bluff will be strutting in after a  victory while Hanford West will be coming in after a  loss.
Red Bluff's tournament run continued when they took on Liberty  on Tuesday. The Spartans came out on top against the Hawks by a score of  7-2.
 Ever Ovalle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two  runs (both of which were unearned)  on four hits. He also  tossed  no  earned runs, which is notable because Red Bluff is 4-2 when he allows at  most  three  earned runs, but 6-7 otherwise.

 On the hitting side,  Lucas Owens and  Ryan Ross did most of the damage at the plate:  Owens  went a perfect 4-for-4 with two  triples, one  stolen base,  and one  run, while  Ross  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Those  three  hits gave  Ross a new career-high.  Mason Lyford was another key player,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Hanford West was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight  defeat. They were a single  run away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Chowchilla.
 Hanford West saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Landon Silva, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances.
 Red Bluff is  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Hanford West, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.
