Recap: Bishop Gorman Gaels vs. Arbor View Aggies

In what's become a running theme this season, the Bishop Gorman Gaels gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They blew past Arbor View 73-44 at home. Given Bishop Gorman's advantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while Arbor View is ranked 36th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bishop Gorman found their leader in underclassman Kenzee Holton, who scored 27 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Holton has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Savannah Searcy, who scored 14 points along with two steals and two blocks.

Arbor View's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sanai Branch, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Branch hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Gemani Abrams was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Bishop Gorman's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Arbor View, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Gorman will take on Desert Pines at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Gorman is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 59.8 points per game this season. As for Arbor View, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Liberty at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Arbor View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday.
