Volleyball Recap: Toronto Comes Up Short

Toronto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Steubenville Big Red. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Big Red this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 two weeks ago.

Despite the loss, Toronto saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jaylee Brown had 19 digs and two aces. Those 19 digs set a new season-high mark for Brown. Sydney Fisher also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Toronto's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Steubenville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Toronto didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Conotton Valley on the 24th. As for Steubenville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Catholic Central on the 25th.
