Basketball Recap: Morgan Ortega's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Alamosa over Holy Family

Alamosa and Holy Family squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Alamosa had to settle for second. The match between the Alamosa Mean Moose and the Holy Family Tigers didn't end well, with the Alamosa Mean Moose falling 58-39.

Several Mean Moose players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Morgan Ortega, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 17 points. Ortega is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Rothermich, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Alamosa's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Holy Family, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-8.

Alamosa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Holy Family, they have already played their next game, a 53-45 defeat against University on the 14th.
